“Inspired By The Places That Move Us”
Welcome! I’m Allyson Hankley. My art is a celebration of color, movement, and imagination. Through vibrant palettes and lively compositions, I paint the places that move me.
Working primarily in acrylic on canvas, I use expressive color, layered texture, and intuitive brushwork to capture the atmosphere and emotion of a place rather than simply its likeness.
My work has evolved alongside the landscapes that have shaped my life. After years of creating paintings inspired by the coast, I recently moved to Western North Carolina, where the Blue Ridge Mountains have opened a new chapter in my creative journey.
I am drawn to the drama of mountain light, the quiet of mist-filled valleys, the rhythm of layered ridgelines, and the unexpected beauty found in the everyday landscape. As I explore this new home, I am allowing the mountains to influence my palette, my perspective, and the stories I tell through paint.
Whether inspired by the coast, the mountains, or somewhere in between, my intention remains the same: to create work that evokes a feeling, sparks a memory, and invites you to pause for a moment and simply take it in.
